Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has described his recent meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump as “not good,” acknowledging tensions between the two leaders.

Reports indicate that the discussion quickly turned confrontational, with Trump and Vice President JD Vance publicly criticizing Zelenskyy, accusing him of “gambling with World War Three.”
In an interview with Fox News following the meeting, Zelenskyy reiterated that the exchange was unproductive but avoided directly answering whether he owed Trump an apology. Instead, he stated, “I think we have to be very open and very honest. And I’m not sure that we did something bad.”
Zelenskyy’s visit to the U.S. was intended to secure a minerals deal that Ukraine hoped would lead to security assurances as part of a potential ceasefire agreement. However, the heated dispute led to Zelenskyy leaving the White House early, and a planned press conference to announce the minerals deal was canceled.
